my not-so-shrunken cardigan

Marilyn's Not-So-Shrunken Cardigan is finished...and there's not really much to say about it---which is a good thing! It fits just the way I wanted it to (you gotta love a top-down raglan) and I'm REALLY happy with the color (I may have accidentallyonpurpose purchased turquoise Mary Jane pumps today.) I used just over 5 skeins of Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool in color 09, verdigris, on size 3 and 6 needles. I almost made it with 5 skeins, but I needed to bust into one more for the last ruffle. I also lengthened the body to 13" below the underarm. The only part I'm disappointed with is that I wish the ruffles were more...squiggly. I think I may have crocheted them too tightly and now they sort of look like fins rather than ruffles. But it doesn't bother me too much. Fall can take its time, but when it does get here, I'll be ready! (Cardigan-wise, anyway.)

(Oh yeah, and I got bangs. I'm not so sure it was the right decision, but they're only bangs. They'll grow out.)

Super pretty. You're making me rethink my generalized ban on all things ruffled.

And I agree:

-y our bangs look very cute

Love it! This has been in my Ravelry queue for a while, and I'm going to have to move it up. I love cardigans because they are so useful - they can go with so many outfits. Also, the bangs look good!

I love it! The colour is gorgeous and it really suits your colouring. I also think your bangs look great (although, being English, I can't quite think of them as anything other than a fringe - sorry!).
Congratulations, and I hope you enjoy wearing it!

Now I so badly want to pull out my five skeins of purple Silky Wool and attempt to knit this without needing a 6th. But I know I would fail, you just told me I need 6 and then I would get so mad at it, it would sit in a frog pile with the rest of the sweaters I knit thinking I could do better than so n so. I will listen this time. So thank you for saving me the trouble! A truly pretty knit. I really do like the ruffles so I think I will go get myself that 6th ball and have a go.

Tracy,
Keep in mind that I added a lot of length, too...save the receipt for that 6th skein! :)

Oh it looks great! I didn't think I was a fan of this pattern, but seeing yours completely changes my mind. I think the front bits are just squiggly enough :)

Jenna, this is so cute on you, but i see what you mean about the ruffles. It looks like this might have shaping on the front like waist darts. Is that the case?

I like the bangs...just decided to do the same thing a couple days ago myself.

What a beautiful color! The cardigan is very flattering, even if it isn't quite as ruffly as you wanted.

The Elsebeth Lavold people really come up with some color winners! The "golden" color of Elin's latest sweater is awesome, too.
